Representatives from Prospec are in attendance of the IAKS UK & Ireland Seminar and Facility Tour, 10-11 April in Cardiff, Wales. For the first time, IAKS UK & Ireland are hosting a seminar and facility tour in Wales.

Featuring local and internationally renowned thought leaders, expert talks, and a hands-on workshop "Active Wellbeing in Communities" will share lessons from the Welsh experience of sport and leisure, which can be applied to the rest of the UK and Europe.

7^th February 2025 - Canada Water Leisure Centre With Prospec Lockers & Cubicles

p>Canada Water Leisure Centre project is about to be handed over to the London Borough of Southwark. Prospec have been involved with the project from the very beginning in delivering specified lockers and cubicles with bench seating. The full range of products included Marathon lockers, Classic laminate / AIR glass cubicles & seating with bespoke timber slats.

This is a unique project for us to be involved in, as the majority of the Leisure Centre is located in the basement levels of the building. A generous glazed lobby and striking canopy gives access to the foyer and reception which provides a welcoming space for members and visitors.

From the foyer space, views are provided via glazed screens into the Fitness Gym and down into the Main Pool and Sports Hall in the lower basement levels below. The new Leisure Centre will provide London Borough of Southwark with the highest quality Leisure Centre facilities such as Main and Learner pools, Sports Hall, Fitness Gym, Studios, dedicated Spinning Studio and dedicated dry and wet changing facilities.

3^rd February 2025 - New 50m Pool & Leisure Facility Announced With Prospec Lockers & Cubicles

Ealing Council (London Borough of Ealing) planning committee has approved plans to transform the old Gurnell site in Ealing, West London, into what the proposals describe as "one of the UK’s best public leisure centres".

The green light for the new centre was given at the start of 2025. It marks a crucial step forward in the Gurnell masterplan delivery, revitalising a significant community hub that is positioned between five of the borough’s seven towns – Ealing, Northolt, Perivale, Hanwell, and Greenford.

The new leisure complex will provide a range of health, fitness and physical activity facilities including a 50-metre swimming pool, making it one of only three open 50m indoor pools in London, along with a climbing wall and state-of-the-art gym. The new site will offer an enhanced wet area, including a waterpark, slides and lazy river, as well as exercise studios, a soft play area and café. Around the centre plans include a new skate park, cycle pump track, outdoor gym and children’s playground. Prospec will be taking a lead on the lockers and cubicles for this project.

27^th January 2025 - New Learning Facility With Prospec Cubicles

Bedford Greenacre School opened its state-of-the-art learning facility at Manton Lane in January 2025, with its roots in the past and its vision firmly set in the future. The 40-acre site has meant they have been able to combine pupils from Reception to Year 13 on one site, in a fully co-educational learning environment.

This particular school site and its facility are a physical embodiment of values and ethos. Bedford Greenacre Independent School is a co-educational private day school located in Bedford, Bedfordshire, England.

5^th November 2024 - Prospec Lockers & Cubicles At Eclipse Leisure Centre

We have just completed a lockers and cubicles installation at a brand new, £50 million facility in Staines, in the borough of Spelthorne. The fantastic leisure space is designed to an extremely high standard, boasting a 200-station gym, two swimming pools, sports hall, squash courts, Clip 'n Climb, and rooftop football pitches! Celebrations for the official opening of Spelthorne's new Eclipse Leisure Centre were led by the Mayor of Spelthorne, Cllr Med Buck, and Leader of the Council, Cllr Joanne Sexton. As well as being a modern design with all the latest facilities, the new leisure centre is also extremely energy efficient. It is the largest leisure centre in the world to be built to the ultra-low energy standard. The Council expects the new centre to use between 60 and 70% less energy than a typical modern leisure centre - a major step in helping the Council become carbon neutral.

14^th August 2024 - University of Southampton Lockers & Cubicles Project Unveiled

Construction is now complete at the impressive extension to the Jubilee Sports Centre at the University of Southampton, marking the start of wider improvements across the University’s estate.

This development was part of a £600 million rejuvenation of University campuses. The building has been designed to be inclusive to all potential users, to connect to the outdoors, increase natural light, and to help meet the University’s low carbon target. It will be built by Wates and will be open in summer 2024.

An outstanding effort from Wates Group and Prospec as one of their superb supply chain partners who have collectively delivered a truly superb sports and recreational facility for our long standing and much valued client University of Southampton. Just under 3 years of planning, discussion, hard work, collaboration, dedication and determination have produced a building that will be the envy of the south with regards to sport and leisure. Prospec are both attending and sponsoring the IAKS Event in Edinburgh on 17th & 18th April 2024 - The seminar will showcase recently developed facilities of regional and national significance in Edinburgh including the new Meadowbank Sports Centre and Oriam, Scotland’s National Performance Centre for Sport. It will also explore the Scottish sporting environment and future issues affecting delivery of sports projects.

The event will focus on the design, development and delivery of these two major sporting facilities as well exploring issues in managing the operation of these, and other sports facilities in Scotland, including the challenges of balancing the needs of community, elite sport and universities. It will be an opportunity to hear directly from the teams that have developed, delivered, and are operating these and other similar facilities.

As with all IAKS events, it provides a great networking opportunity for exchange of knowledge and ideas on the development of leading sports facilities. The event itself will run from 3pm to 5:30pm on the 17th at Meadowbank Sports Centre, with a full day on the 18th of April, at Oriam, from 10am to 4pm. There will be a social drinks and dinner event on the evening of the 17th of April, in central Edinburgh, and networking drinks at Oriam at the end of the day on the 18th.

Manufactured with 10mm Toughened Glass doors and a robust aluminium carcass, the lockers cater perfectly for the members golf equipment without compromising quality or finish.

Our award winning Cabrillant cubicles continued the use of glass into the changing facilities in the form of showers. These are complimented by a number of products from our Marathon range. Great Yarmouth leisure centre rebranded as the New Marina Centre is a new build project featuring Marathon glass lockers, Classic cubicles & Seating all being complete as a Prospec installation.

Following ground-breaking in January 2021, construction work has progressed to schedule on our new state-of-the-art Marina Centre. The project is on track for the new centre to open in August 2022. 18^th June 2022 - Melksham Leisure Centre Progressing Nicely

Prospec have been very busy working on the new build Melksham Leisure Centre with an example of our Trojan vanity panels and bay as a first fix install progressing well. Prospec worked with Alliance Leisure and Pellikaan Construction to deliver a £20 million community hub in Melksham for Wiltshire Council.

As a result, the new campus includes a six-lane swimming pool and a learner pool, fitness suite, fitness studio, library, sports hall, community meeting rooms, a café and office space.

The specification included the award winning Cabrillant shower cubicles, plus the versatile, durable Marathon range of cubicles and lockers. The locker doors are manufactured from toughened and laminated glass, which allowed the architect to incorporate quality normally associated with high-end health clubs without compromising safety of use within this heavy traffic public facility.

The colour scheme is striking and modern thanks to the use of vibrant green and graphite grey laminates and glass. Quartz black Corian solid surfacing, for the vanity and grooming shelves, provides the finishing touch.
